I had the honor and privilege of serving in the Maine House of Representatives with Dr. Richard A. Evans from 2020 to 2022. Dr. Evans and I sat very close to one another, and I grew to know him well. I also saw him in action in the House and in our daily morning caucuses. With each passing day my admiration and respect for Dr. Evans grew. He is a man of the highest character, and he worked diligently for all his constituents.
Despite his incredible record of accomplishment in the medical field, including his distinguished service as an active member of the United States Air Force, Dr. Evans remained humble and demonstrated compassion and concern for Maine’s residents while never drawing attention to himself. Throughout his life, he has been a true public servant. I was proud to serve with him, and prouder still to endorse him for election to Maine Senate District 4.
It is impossible to list all of Dr. Evans’ accomplishments, which include being elected by his peers as the president of the Maine Medical Association. However, those accomplishments, while staggering in length and breadth, are not why I support his candidacy. I support Dr. Evans because he is a wonderful human being who commands respect when he speaks, is admired by his colleagues, and will work hard every day for all the residents of his Senate district. I cannot vote for Dr. Evans, but I urge those living in Senate District 4 to do so.
